Travel Information for NACVGM 2024 Conference Attendees

Conference Venue

NACVGM 2024 will take place on the campus of Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. Most conference activities will take place in the College of Communications Arts and Sciences building at 404 Wilson Road, East Lansing, MI. Saturday evening’s concert will take place in the College of Music’s Murray Hall at 333 W Circle Dr, East Lansing, MI 48824. Make plans around those two addresses as you reserve lodging and travel.

Conference Lodging

Conference Travel

East Lansing is located in mid-Michigan, within driving distance of several major cities, including Detroit (~1.5 hours), Chicago (~4 hours), Cleveland (~3.5 hours), and Toronto (~5 hours).

Lansing Capital City Airport (LAN) is the closest airport with connections through Detroit, Chicago, Cincinatti, Minneapolis, and Atlanta. However, there are a number of airports that you can fly into to reach the East Lansing area, including:

  • Lansing Capital City Airport (LAN) in Lansing, MI – 10 miles / 18 minutes drive from the College of Communications Arts and Sciences
  • Detroit Metro International Airport (DTW) in Detroit, MI – 90 miles / 80 minutes drive from the College of Communications Arts and Sciences. The Michigan Flyer provides bus service between the Detroit Metro International Airport and East Lansing. It drops off and picks up at the East Lansing Marriott on Grand River Ave.
  • Bishop International Airport (FNT) in Flint, MI – 52 miles / 48 minutes drive from the College of Communications Arts and Sciences
  • Gerald R Ford International Airport (GRR) in Grand Rapids, MI – 64 miles / 57 minutes drive from the College of Communications Arts and Sciences 

Parking

The Springhill Suites (see above) has parking for guests. There is also a parking ramp adjacent to the CAS building, and multiple parking ramps near restaurants on Grand River Avenue next to campus.
